Rehabilitation & Therapy Services

Biloxi offers a full range of on-site, in-patient professional therapy services, including physical, occupational therapy and speech-language treatment. We understand how important it is for residents to have access to on-site rehab resources. We provide certified speech-language pathologists and skilled in-house/out-patient therapeutic services along with VitalStim treatments. VitalStim treats patients with neuromuscular swallowing deficits by stimulating the inactive or atrophied peripheral motor nerves with calibrated electrical currents through external electrodes. Patients that would benefit from this intervention are patients that have had strokes, mini-strokes, traumatic brain injury; progressive neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s, and MS; Brain tumors; Head or neck cancers; and patients presently on peg-tubes.

We can continue with patient’s specific therapy regiments through outpatient rehab. BCLC continues to provide skilled Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy in an outpatient setting after the patients have returned home.

We also provide Polychromatic Infrared Therapy, an infrared therapy that has proven effective for wound healing, treatment and cure of skin ulcers, diabetic neuropathy and pain relief. This modality is non-invasive and very comfortable for the patient to use while at Outpatient services provided by Biloxi Community Living Center.

Some of the rehabilitation and therapy services include:

  • Stroke Rehabilitation
  • Arthritis Management
  • Prosthetics Training
  • Post-Operative Joint Rehabilitation
  • Verbal Communication
  • Bathing, Dressing, Personal Hygiene & Toileting
  • Eating and Swallowing
